Damar’s ABA program begins with an evaluation that includes a full assessment of each child. Observation time, parent interviews, and the appropriate assessment tools are used to create an individualized treatment plan in order to meet the unique needs of your child with autism. Our services can include:

We are currently seeking Occupational Therapists to join our highly skilled ABA team at our Indianapolis locations. The Occupational Therapist is responsible for providing, documenting, and billing for direct occupational therapy and consultation services to eligible ABA clients. The Occupational Therapist serves as member of the interdisciplinary treatment team for all clients served. Services provided include initial evaluation, ongoing therapy, and consultation to other members of the treatment team. The Occupational Therapist participates in facilitating vocation and transition-related services to appropriate clients.

  • Completes prior authorization report and progress notes for each assigned client.
  • Provides comprehensive occupational therapy assessment for each client served.
  • Responsible for consultation with the client’s treatment team including the client’s family members.
  • Provides acute/crisis consultation as necessary within limits of discipline.
  • Utilizes Central Reach for all documentation and progress monitoring.
  • Takes pride and ownership in Damar’s facilities and assigned work areas.
  • Acts as a good steward of Damar and/or client finances.
  • Prioritizes duties in a manner consistent with organizational objectives and growth.
  • Submits documentation (evaluations, service notes, quarterly updates, etc.) in a timely fashion.
  • Will adhere to all policies and procedures as defined in the Employee Handbook and Damar Operational Policies and Procedures Manual.
  • Completes and updates mandatory training and other licensure related items in a timely manner.
  • Interacts with clients to demonstrate respect, acknowledgment of rights, and dignity at all times.
  • Interacts professionally with parents, teachers, staff, and other providers.

What you need to be considered...

 

Education: Bachelor’s degree required.

 

Experience: Directly relevant applied experience in the implementation of O.T. interventions with the developmentally handicapped population is preferred.  

 

Equipment Familiarity: Proficiency with MS Office applications including: Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint.

 

Certifications, Licenses or Special Training:

  • O.T. licensure required.
  • Minimum age of 21 depending on program and / or department requirements.
    • Must meet and maintain background screening requirements for all Damar Programs as detailed in policy 1.HR.02 Pre-Employment and Employee Background Checks.
    • Valid Indiana driver’s license and driving record that meets eligibility requirements of Damar’s insurance carrier (for all positions requiring driving).

Essential Job Functions:

Physical: Primary functions require sufficient physical ability and mobility to work in an office setting; to stand or sit for prolonged periods of time; to occasionally stoop, bend, kneel, crouch, reach, and twist; to lift, carry, push, and/or pull light to moderate amounts of weight (up to 35lbs); to operate office equipment requiring repetitive hand movement and fine coordination including use of a computer keyboard; to travel to other locations using various modes of private and commercial transportation; and to verbally communicate to exchange information.

Vision: See in the normal visual range with or without correction.

Hearing: Hear in the normal audio range with or without correction.
