Damar is looking for Direct Support Technicians (DSTs) to join our team in Indianapolis. As a DST, you’ll work directly with individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities and/or autism. Your role is to provide care, supervision, encouragement, and support while helping clients build important life and social skills. You do not need previous experience to apply. If you enjoy helping others, are dependable, patient, and willing to learn, Damar provides the training you need to get started.

Essential Job Functions
The essential functions of this position require the physical ability and mobility needed to perform the job. This includes the ability to stand or sit for prolonged periods; occasionally stoop, bend, kneel, crouch, reach, and twist; lift, carry, push, and/or pull up to 50 lbs.; operate office equipment, including a computer keyboard; travel to other locations using private or commercial transportation; and communicate effectively to exchange information.
The position also requires the ability to recognize and respond appropriately to client behaviors, staff instructions, safety concerns, and emergencies in an environment where individuals may display aggressive, self-injurious, sexually maladaptive, elopement, or other unpredictable behaviors.
Regular and acceptable attendance, excluding approved absences and periods of leave, is also an essential function of the position.
