Join us in empowering individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities or autism. Damar is looking for a talented and motivated Psychometrist to join our team. The Psychometrist, under clinical supervision of a licensed psychologist, neuropsychologist, or other appropriately qualified behavioral health care provider is responsible for direct client and family work by routine administering, scoring, and compiling results of a full comprehensive evaluation.

Remarkable ways you will be making a difference:

  • Combine and evaluate info gathered from observation, collateral documentation, and interview  
  • Establishes rapport and maintains flexibility when interacting with clients  
  • Assist and participates with evaluation clinics  
  • Initiate gathering of collateral documentation by requesting, receiving and organizing previous mental health, medical, education and other records to be used in the overall assessment of the client and evaluation  
  • May be responsible for helping provide education to staff members  
  • Provide crisis intervention and crisis consultation as necessary  
  • Ensures that all testing supplies are available. Orders more supplies as needed to maintain adequate supply  
  • Works to obtain CSAYP or maintains CSAYP and knowledge of risk assessment tools for sexual behavior problems in youth  
  • Prioritizes duties in a manner consistent with organizational objectives and growth  
  • Seeks the best use of materials, equipment and staff to maximize efficiency and effectiveness  
  • Acts as a good steward of Damar and/or client finances  
  • Serves as a member of Damar's interdisciplinary team, responsible for development, implementation and evaluation of services  
  • Shows initiative by identifying solutions to work towards improving stakeholder satisfaction  
  • Complete thorough and concise case management history  
  • Ensures youth and families receive regular, timely and comprehensive evaluations that include cultural and linguistic preferences such as language, spiritual affiliation, dietary and dress requirements, gender roles and other cultural variables that may impact treatment and services  
  • Keeps abreast of current treatment technology, literature, practices and regulations, and assures that Damar’s clinical services meet best practice standards  
  • Interacts professionally with parents, school and medical personnel, and coordinates clinical services between Damar, school, clinics, and family as warranted  
  • Respects the culture, diversity and rights of all clients, their families and the community  
  • Performs other duties as assigned  

What you need to be considered:

  • Bachelor’s degree in psychology, social work or related field from an accredited institution with completion of coursework relevant to position (e.g., psychological assessment, clinical psychology, statistics, neuroscience) required
  • Master's degree preferred
  • Minimum of 5 years of directly relevant applied experience in the treatment of individuals with developmental disabilities who have emotional or behavioral issues is required
  • Minimum age of 21 per licensure requirements
  • Valid Indiana driver’s license and driving record that meets eligibility requirements of Damar’s insurance carrier (for all positions requiring driving)
  • Be clear of any felony convictions, substantiated charges of neglect or other disqualifying criminal convictions
  • Successfully complete a pre-employment physical
  • Favorably meet and maintain Damar’s background screening
