Damar is seeking an Intensive Autism Technician who is excited to provide direct support to children at our newest residential location in Richmond, Indiana. This is a great opportunity for someone eager to start or grow their career in the field while contributing to the launch of a brand-new program and helping establish our presence in a new community.

The Intensive Autism Technician will provide direct support to children diagnosed with autism, helping them build skills and achieve greater independence using the principles of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA). We provide training, support, and opportunities for growth, so you can build a meaningful career while making a difference!

 

Shifts we are hiring for:

  • 1st Shift 7am-3pm
  • 2nd Shift 3pm-11pm
  • 3rd Shift 11pm-7:30am
  • Weekend Shift 7am-11:00pm

  • Demonstrates confidence when making decisions in the moment regarding Skills Based Treatment.
  • Completes and updates mandatory training and other licensure related items in a timely manner.
  • Attends mandatory staff meeting and other meetings as assigned
  • Seeks the best use of materials, equipment and staff to maximize efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Utilizes data collection in relation to driving and tracking outcomes and achieving agency initiatives and goals.
  • Ensures that the agency meets its quality improvement, evaluation and reporting requirements.
  • Takes pride and ownership in Damar’s facilities and assigned work areas.
  • Maintains neat, chronological documentation of all goals and behaviors.
  • Keep abreast of current treatment technology, literature, practices, and regulations.
  • Completes RBT Certification as outlined by the Behavior Analyst Certification Board within 60 days of hire.
  • Maintains RBT Certification as outlined by the Behavior Analyst Certification Board.
  • Interacts professionally with parents, school, medical personnel, and others using only excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.

What you need to be considered...

  • Be at least 21 to work in our Children's Residential program
  • Be able to provide formal proof of a high school diploma or GED
  • Must have or be willing to earn RBT Certification. 
  • Successfully complete a pre-employment physical
  • Favorably meet and maintain Damar’s background screening
  • Be clear of any felony convictions, substantiated charges of neglect or other disqualifying criminal offenses

Essential Job Functions:

Physical: Primary functions require sufficient physical ability and mobility to work in an office setting; to stand or sit for prolonged periods of time; to occasionally stoop, bend, kneel, crouch, reach, and twist; to lift, carry, push, and/or pull light to moderate amounts of weight (up to 35lbs); to operate office equipment requiring repetitive hand movement and fine coordination including use of a computer keyboard; to travel to other locations using various modes of private and commercial transportation; and to verbally communicate to exchange information.

Vision: See in the normal visual range with or without correction.

Hearing: Hear in the normal audio range with or without correction.
