The Residential Manager will lead, direct and monitor treatment services provided by assigned staff within Damar’s Children’s Residential Services.

Remarkable way you will be making a difference...

  • Manages and oversees the day-to-day residential operations of assigned campus building or group home.
  • Manages all employee functions of Lead Staff including recruitment, on the job training, coaching and mentoring, performance appraisals, and performance management functions.
  • Manages the on-boarding new staff to appropriately acclimate staff to Damar expectations around client care, service excellence, active supervision and the like while adhering to agency policies and procedures.
  • Completes outing sheets and off ground checklist in collaboration with the QDDP.
  • Ensure clients are safe to go for an off-ground outing.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • Acts as a liaison and consistently communicates with families, professionals, guardians and referring agencies to provide best outcomes for clients. Ensures that these communications are recorded in a timely manner.
  • Remains up to date on treatment best practices to ensure to proactively meet client demands.
  • Works with staff and facilitates training of staff, ensuring all staff complete training as required and on time per program specifications.
  • Provides support to the Lead Staff in managing staff schedules according to staffing budget. Ensures assigned unit(s) are staffed in alignment with regulatory requirements, including working the unit as required.

What you need to be considered...

  • One year of people management experience preferred.
  • Must be able to verify one of the following qualifications:
    • Bachelor’s Degree combined with one year of full-time experience working with behavioral challenges and/or individuals identifying with the DD/ID population.

    • Associate degree or 48 completed credit hours combined with two years of full-time experience working with behavioral challenges and/or individuals identifying with the DD/ID population.

    • High School Diploma or GED combined with four years of full-time experience working with behavioral challenges and/or individuals identifying with the DD/ID population.

  • Minimum age of 21 per licensure requirements.
  • Valid Indiana driver’s license and driving record that meets eligibility requirements of Damar’s insurance carrier (for all positions requiring driving).
  • Must meet and maintain background screening requirements of program(s) assigned to.
  • No felony convictions or other criminal offenses involving a dependent population.
  • Successful completion of pre-employment physical.

Essential Job Functions:

Physical: Primary functions require sufficient physical ability and mobility to work in an office setting; to stand or sit for prolonged periods of time; to occasionally stoop, bend, kneel, crouch, reach, and twist; to lift, carry, push, and/or pull light to moderate amounts of weight (up to 35lbs); to operate office equipment requiring repetitive hand movement and fine coordination including use of a computer keyboard; to travel to other locations using various modes of private and commercial transportation; and to verbally communicate to exchange information.

Vision: See in the normal visual range with or without correction.

Hearing: Hear in the normal audio range with or without correction
