Join us in empowering individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities or autism. Damar is looking for a talented and motivated Revenue Cycle Coordinator to join our team. The Revenue Cycle Coordinator is responsible for ensuring accurate, timely, and effective revenue management processes related to insurance eligibility, chart audits, and data verification. This role plays a critical part in managing the revenue cycle by verifying patient eligibility, conducting thorough audits of medical charts, and ensuring data accuracy across billing and coding systems.

  • Act as a liaison between the Damar Operations Leadership/Teams and Damar Accounting Team 
  • Establish and maintain effective lines of communication with representatives of agency payers: Department of Child Services (DCS), Medicaid, and other private insurance. 
  • Own DCS billing process from bill to payment, including management of denials. 
  • Review patient insurance information to verify eligibility, coverage, and benefits before service dates. 
  • Communicate with patients, providers, and insurance companies to resolve discrepancies and clarify benefit details. 
  • Act as a liaison between the billing department, programs, clinical staff and insurance providers to facilitate smooth revenue cycle operations. 
  • Document and update patient insurance information in the electronic health records (EHR) system accurately. 
  • Ensure data consistency across different systems and reconcile records to maintain clean and accurate billing information. 
  • Provide feedback to improve data entry and billing processes, ensuring compliance with HIPAA and other regulatory requirements. 
  • Participate in revenue cycle meetings, contribute to process improvement initiatives, and provide updates on eligibility, audit findings, and data quality issues. 
  • Prepare and maintain accurate reports on eligibility verification, audit outcomes, and data quality metrics. 
  • Verify the accuracy of patient data, including demographic information, billing codes, and insurance details in the EHR. 

What you need to be considered...

  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in healthcare administration, business, or a related field (preferred).
  • 2+ years of experience in a healthcare revenue cycle, billing, or coding role.
  • Familiarity with DCS/KidTraks billing is a plus.
  • Strong knowledge of medical billing processes, coding guidelines, and reimbursement policies.
  • Excellent organizational, analytical, and communication skills.
  • Proficient in using billing software and electronic health record systems.
  • Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and patient privacy laws.
  • Minimum age of 21 depending on program and / or department requirements.
  • Successful completion of pre-employment physical.
  • Must meet and maintain background screening requirements for all Damar Programs as detailed in policy 1.HR.02 Pre-Employment and Employee Background Checks.

Physical: Primary functions require sufficient physical ability and mobility to work in an office setting; to stand or sit for prolonged periods of time; to occasionally stoop, bend, kneel, crouch, reach, and twist; to lift, carry, push, and/or pull light to moderate amounts of weight (up to 35lbs); to operate office equipment requiring repetitive hand movement and fine coordination including use of a computer keyboard; to travel to other locations using various modes of private and commercial transportation; and to verbally communicate to exchange information.
