Damar is currently seeking a Specialized Initiatives Coordinator for Competency Attainment Services (CAS). The Specialized Initiatives Coordinator is responsible for leading, directing, and monitoring CAS for youth receiving those services. This role manages all direct competency work and case management for assigned clients, ensuring all functions align with Damar’s Strategic Plan and state/court requirements. Responsibilities include oversight of electronic and paper records, as well as ensuring full compliance with regulatory standards of care.

 

This position offers a flexible schedule that includes travel throughout the state of Indiana. Some work can be completed remotely, and a shared office space is also available at our main campus.

  • Manages and oversees the day-to-day programs operations.
  • Coordinates Competency Attainment services and resources when needed.
  • Provides Direct Competency and case management Services.
  • Provides emergency/crisis services for youth in the program.
  • Manages and completes the kidstraks referral process and requesting and gathering pertinent information and documentation from referral sources.
  • Develops and maintains positive and professional collaboration and partnerships.
  • Create and validate provider invoices for monthly report submittals.
  • Compile invoicing documentation for finance, DCS and Choices.
  • Manages payment of DCS invoices and submission of rebills/denials.
  • Completes required tasks to ensure assigned department meets quality improvement, evaluation and reporting requirements.
  • Adheres to court orders related to Competency attainment and Damar policy and procedures.
  • Participates in child and family team meetings to update on competency attainment attempt.
  • Participates in court hearings to update on competency attainment attempt.
  • Seeking the best use of materials, equipment and staff to maximize efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Acting as a good steward of Damar and/or client finances.
  • Ensuring that the agency meets its quality improvement, evaluation and reporting requirements.
  • Showing initiative by identifying solutions to work towards improving stakeholder satisfaction.
  • Prioritizing duties in a manner consistent with organizational objectives and growth.
  • Takes pride and ownership in Damar’s facilities and assigned work areas.
  • Conduct regular file audits to ensure alignment of billable hours, progress notes, invoices and other relevant reporting documentation.
  • Track and maintain caseload data such as training requirements, billing, Quality and Compliance information and other required documents.
  • Actively participating in and/or overseeing data collection and the use of data to improve outcomes, practices and.

What you need to be considered...

  • Bachelor’s degree in a human services field required.
  • Experience working with children with challenging behaviors, developmental and/or emotional disabilities is preferred but not required.
  • Successful completion of pre-employment physical.
  • Must meet and maintain background screening requirements for all Damar Programs as detailed in policy 1.HR.02 Pre-Employment and Employee Background Checks.

Essential Job Functions:

Physical: Primary functions require sufficient physical ability and mobility to work in an office setting; to stand or sit for prolonged periods of time; to occasionally stoop, bend, kneel, crouch, reach, and twist; to lift, carry, push, and/or pull light to moderate amounts of weight (up to 35lbs); to operate office equipment requiring repetitive hand movement and fine coordination including use of a computer keyboard; to travel to other locations using various modes of private and commercial transportation; and to verbally communicate to exchange information.

Vision: See in the normal visual range with or without correction.

Hearing: Hear in the normal audio range with or without correction.
