Damar is looking for a talented, motivated, and detail oriented Support Services Coordinator to be responsible for performing a variety of para-professional tasks related to the care of individuals served by Damar. This includes participation in activities that promote the development of appropriate daily living, self-help, and social skills of clients. Job responsibilities include the performance of duties related to the physical health and well-being of each resident served.

Some of the ways you will be making a difference...

  • Assisting families with selecting an independent contractor to provide services as defined by the NOA.
  • Monitoring independent contractor hours to ensure service match the family’s needs and do not exceed the NOA.
  • Reviewing contractor invoices and processing for payment.
  • Evaluating contracted services to ensure independent contractor is fulfilling contract terms and complying with regulatory guidelines.
  • Ensuring ISP/BSPs of assigned clients are implemented.
  • Notifying appropriate management and regulatory agencies of incidents within the required timeframes as determined by regulatory agencies and/or Damar policies.
  • Monitoring client’s finances and ensuring expenses are paid in a timely manner, if required.
  • Conducting bi-weekly assessments to ensure client and family satisfaction.
  • Auditing client files on a monthly basis or more frequently as needed.
  • Assisting staff and clients in maintaining a safe, healthy and clean-living environment, as needed.
  • Effectively responding to and managing crisis situations, which may include client physical aggression, utilizing prescribed verbal intervention or physical management techniques.
  • Performing other duties as assigned.

What you need to be considered...

  • Meet one of the following:
    • High School Diploma/GED combined with four years of full-time experience working with neuropsychiatric or behavioral challenges and/or individuals identifying with the DD/ID population
    • Associate’s degree or 48 completed credit hours combined with two years of full-time experience working with neuropsychiatric or behavioral challenges and/or individuals identifying with the DD/ID population
    • Bachelor’s degree (preferred)
  • Be at least 18 to work in our Community Living and Support Services program and at least 21 to work in our Children's Residential program
  • Possess a valid Indiana driver’s license and good driving record
  • Successfully complete a pre-employment physical.
  • Favorably meet and maintain Damar’s background screening
  • Be clear of any felony convictions, substantiated charges of neglect or other disqualifying criminal offenses

Essential Job Functions:

Physical: Primary functions require sufficient physical ability and mobility to work in an office setting; to stand or sit for prolonged periods of time; to occasionally stoop, bend, kneel, crouch, reach, and twist; to lift, carry, push, and/or pull light to moderate amounts of weight (up to 35lbs); to operate office equipment requiring repetitive hand movement and fine coordination including use of a computer keyboard; to travel to other locations using various modes of private and commercial transportation; and to verbally communicate to exchange information.

Vision: See in the normal visual range with or without correction.

Hearing: Hear in the normal audio range with or without correction.
