Damar Services is looking for a talented and motivated Crisis Response Clinician to join our team. The Crisis Response Clinician provides immediate, short-term support to individuals with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities (IDD) experiencing a behavioral health crisis. This role is trained to assess, de-escalate, and stabilize individuals in crisis.

  • Travels in and around Marion County as part of the Mobile Crisis Response team.
  • Mobile Response will serve in a rotating on-call and respond to crisis calls with Crisis Response Specialists.
  • Provides cognitive behavior therapy and motivational interviewing.
  • Maintains clinical case load.
  • Implements, coordinates, monitors, documents, and evaluates measurable treatment goals.
  • Interacts professionally with parents, schools, medical personnel, and other stakeholders with professionalism and the highest levels of interpersonal and customer service skills.
  • Serves as a member of Damar Services’ interdisciplinary team.
  • Utilizes strong communication and active listening skills
  • Implements problem solving and decision-making skills to assess situations and determine appropriate interventions.
  • Takes pride and ownership in Damar’s facilities and assigned work areas.

What you need to be considered...

  • Master’s degree required; preferably in social work, counseling, psychology, or a related human services field.  
  • Licensure (LSW, LMHCA, or LMFTA) preferred. 
  • 2 years of experience with individuals with Intellectual and/or developmental disabilities preferred.
  • Minimum age of 18 per licensure requirements.
  • Ability to pass and maintain CPR Certification.
  • Ability to pass and maintain Critical Moments Training (CMT) Certification.
  • Must meet and maintain background screening requirements for all Damar Programs as detailed in policy 1.HR.02 Pre-Employment and Employee Background Checks.
  • Valid Indiana driver’s license and driving record that meets eligibility requirements of Damar’s insurance carrier (for all positions requiring driving).
  • Successful completion of pre-employment physical required.

Essential Job Functions:

Physical: Primary functions require sufficient physical ability and mobility to work in an office setting; to stand or sit for prolonged periods of time; to occasionally stoop, bend, kneel, crouch, reach, and twist; to lift, carry, push, and/or pull light to moderate amounts of weight (up to 35lbs); to operate office equipment requiring repetitive hand movement and fine coordination including use of a computer keyboard; to travel to other locations using various modes of private and commercial transportation; and to verbally communicate to exchange information.

Vision: See in the normal visual range with or without correction.

Hearing: Hear in the normal audio range with or without correction.
