On the southwestern side of Indianapolis in the Plainfield/Camby area at our Health Services Clinic! 

 

What would I be doing?

You will deliver quality nursing care by coordinating with providers, handling insurance denials and appeals, verifying medication accuracy and lab scheduling, and supporting our nursing team with pre-employment physicals!

Monday-Wednesday 8a-5p

Thursday 8a-6p

Friday 8a-4p

Some of the ways you will make a difference...

  • Maintaining and updating medication records in both the Medication Administration Record (MAR) and electronic health record (EHR) systems, including prescriptions from Damar providers and external specialists (e.g., urgent care, dermatologists).
  • Managing the Pharmacy Queue by reviewing and validating patient prescriptions.
  • Assessing prescription requests to determine if they are new orders, dosage or instruction changes, or duplicate submissions.
  • Ensuring accurate entry of dispensing times, as well as correct start and end dates for all medications.
  • Handling all prior authorization processes for campus prescriptions, utilizing platforms such as IHIE and Prisma to gather relevant information for submission.
  • Notifying the pharmacist upon authorization approval, providing the authorization number and valid dates to facilitate prescription processing and payment.
  • Managing insurance denials, including peer-to-peer (P2P) reviews and appeals.
  • Collaborating with providers to identify alternative medications that may be covered by insurance or discuss alternative treatment options based on the outcome of authorizations.
  • Monitoring and coordinates laboratory testing as required for medication management.
  • Collecting comprehensive medication histories prior to patient admissions to ensure all active prescriptions are available and accurate upon intake.
  • Retaining a copy of each patient's MAR at the end of the month for future reference.
  • Supporting the nursing team as requested.

What you need to be considered...

  • Must have Indiana nursing license as Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN).

  • At least one year of experience as a nurse is required. 

  • Previous data collection, chart auditing, or medical office experience preferred.
  • Proficiency with MS Office applications including Word and Outlook. Comfort utilizing an electronic health record and/or an electronic medication record. 
  • Minimum age of 21 per licensure requirements.
  • Must meet and maintain background screening requirements of program(s) assigned to.
  • No felony convictions or other criminal offenses involving a dependent population.
  • Successful completion of pre-employment drug screen and physical.

Essential Job Functions:

Physical: Primary functions require sufficient physical ability and mobility to work in an office setting; to stand or sit for prolonged periods of time; to occasionally stoop, bend, kneel, crouch, reach, and twist; to lift, carry, push, and/or pull light to moderate amounts of weight (up to 35lbs); to operate office equipment requiring repetitive hand movement and fine coordination including use of a computer keyboard; to travel to other locations using various modes of private and commercial transportation; and to verbally communicate to exchange information.

Vision: See in the normal visual range with or without correction.

Hearing: Hear in the normal audio range with or without correction.
