Damar is looking for a talented and motivated Assistant Director, Community Living and Support Services to join our team! The Assistant Director, Community Living and Support Services is responsible for performing a variety of duties related to the daily operations of Community Living and Support Services. The Assistant Director, Community Living and Support Services will manage NOA/PCISP implementation, ensure regulation compliance, and oversee the Community Living and Support Services Team.

• Leads, directs, and monitors program processes while actively promoting agency philosophies in the delivery of services.
• Meet regularly with support team members, consumers, and their families to develop strategies.
• Attends DRS and INARF association meetings.
• Manages identified employee’s functions including recruitment, on the job training, coaching and mentoring, performance appraisals, and performance management functions for Support Services and Community Living employees.
• Coordinates and evaluates Support Services and Community Living Services.
• Coordinating and documenting bi-monthly staffing meeting, weekly leadership meetings, and monthly 1:1 supervision.
• Leads, directs, and monitors program processes while actively promoting agency philosophies in the delivery of services.
• Provides case coverage as needed.
• Monitors productivity.
• Completes weekly Therapy audits for contractor billing and payroll.
• Leads weekly leadership meetings/trainings.
• Attends mandatory staff meeting and other meetings as assigned.
• Ensures waiver regulation compliance.

What you need to be considered...

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in Social Work, Psychology, or a related field preferred.
  • 5 years of experience working with adults with challenging behaviors, developmental and/or emotional disabilities is desired.
  • Minimum of 3 years of prior leadership or management experience.
  • Ability to pass and maintain Critical Moments Training (CMT) Certification.
  • Ability to pass and maintain CPR Certification.
  • Valid Indiana driver’s license and driving record that meets eligibility requirements of Damar’s insurance carrier (for all positions requiring driving).
  • Successful completion of pre-employment drug screen and physical.
  • Must meet and maintain background screening requirements for all Damar Programs as detailed in policy 1.HR.02 Pre-Employment and Employee Background Checks.

Essential Job Functions:

Physical: Primary functions require sufficient physical ability and mobility to work in an office setting; to stand or sit for prolonged periods of time; to occasionally stoop, bend, kneel, crouch, reach, and twist; to lift, carry, push, and/or pull light to moderate amounts of weight (up to 35lbs); to operate office equipment requiring repetitive hand movement and fine coordination including use of a computer keyboard; to travel to other locations using various modes of private and commercial transportation; and to verbally communicate to exchange information.

Vision: See in the normal visual range with or without correction.

Hearing: Hear in the normal audio range with or without correction.
